HOTEL LIASON – JULIA BATEMAN
Hi! We have acquired what we hope is the perfect convention set-up for you for our next SwanCon.
The Freeway Hotel is situated in South Perth, just minutes walk away from the river and from Mends Street shopping centre, where there are eating establishments to suit all pockets. If you are of the walking temperament, the hotel is situated beautifully for long strolls along the river or a trip to the Zoo (a brisk 10 minutes away). The hotel itself is a better than average motel establishment. It has a restaurant and a bar which serves very reasonable snacks. Rather more important are its very spacious Convention facilities and “The Swimming Pool”.
Accommodation is slightly above average mote-style rooms. There are single, double, twin, treble and a few family rooms (which sleep 2 adults/2 kids) available. If you want us to find someone for you to share with, let me know and I’ll to my best to find a roomie for you.
Instead of a formal banquet, we thought it might be fun to have a poolside BBQ in keeping with the WA outdoor image (apologies in advance to vegetarians). We are also able to provide a 24hr Fan Lounge with facilities to make coffee etc and store cool drinks.
We hope to provide a creche from 0900 to 1800 each day, but we need to hear from you if you need this facility. If not enough interest is forthcoming we will not be able to do this. Expected costs will be $90 per child for Saturday/Sunday/Monday inclusive. We must, however, know by November 1st.
