Hello once more. Well we are nearly there & this is just a short newsletter to inform you once more of the important details.

The convention date is the LABOUR DAY long weekend, 27 FEB – 2 MAR.

Hotel Bookings.
Well if you haven’t booked a hotel room already you are very silly. The Airways is an overflow hotel for a convention at the Sheraton that weekend. So if you still want a room be quick and phone the hotel directly Ph (09)xxx xxxx.
Remember to tell them you are with Swancon XII.

Day Managers.
All positions are taken, you can recognise them by the day manager T-shirt.
Friday – Stephen Johnson     Saturday – Mark Bivens
Sunday – Greg Turkich           Monday – Mark Lingane

Gophers.
” Where are you ??? “ Please !!! We need some gophers. Go to the registration desk and fill in preferred dates and times.

Registration.
We also need people to man the registration desk. Again let us know your preferred dates and times.

Banquet.
The banquet is on Saturday Night at 7.30pm. The cost is $20 per head BYO drinks. We provide glasses, plates, cutlery. You provide yourself and clothes. Remember there is only limited numbers so book now so as not to miss out.

Cocktail Party.
Friday Night at approximately 9.00pm. Some mixers will be provided (as well as glasses to put them in), however, to enter please donate a bottle of alcohol (and put your name on it if you want to claim any remains) or see the committee to arrange other payment methods.

Raffle.

At this slightly odd point, we turn over the page.

$1 a ticket with the chance to win a $50 book voucher from SUPERNOVA. Tickets will be available at the convention and it will be drawn at the closing ceremony.

Commemorative Port.
We will be selling Swancon XII commemorative port at $8 a bottle. See us in the Hucksters room.

Masquerade.
The masquerade will be held on Saturday night at 8.00pm. There is No Theme. If you have any special requirements contact us beforehand. Judges are John Mcdouall, Sue Leighton and David Simmons (bribes are to be paid well in advance). The M.C.’s are Gina and David.

Rail Baron Tournament.
If you wish to compete you must put your name on the white board at registration on the Friday. Gaming will start on the Saturday morning.

Short Story Competitions.
Both are still running:
a) 3000 word limit story.
b) 50 word exactly story.
You can leave entries at the registration desk. The 3000 word story must be in by 12 noon Saturday and the 50 word story must be in by 7pm Sunday.

Auction.
All items for the auction must be in by 5.00pm Saturday at the registration desk. You must fill in a form for each item. Remember the Vegemite Shield and the Committee Cream Pies (well, we needn’t discuss them !) will be auctioned as well.

Rates.
Attending rates will be $30 at the door ($25 before) $10 full day or $5 half day.
