Grant Stone presents at Ghengis Con

by Chris Creagh

Grant Stone, inaugural recipient of a Silver Swan, embodies SF in WA. He was there at the first SwanCon and is the Patron Saint of GenghisCon. Here he is giving his traditional “Morning Tea with Grant Stone” session at GenghisCon 2011. It usually starts with lashings of scones and jam and cream and, when everyone is sitting comfortably, past and present SF anecdotes unfold to an enchanted audience. No question remains unanswered and rarely is a story repeated. The allotted hour evaporates all too quickly as listeners glimpse the depth and the breadth of SF in WA as seen through the eyes of one of its sages.

About australian sf-history

ASFDAP was set up in 2011 after the rediscovery by the wider SF community of an impressive hoard of Australian SF community related ephemera, fanzines and other materials in the Murdoch University basement.
