The Goon Show strikes again! Hello folks!
When Rob McGough wrote and brought the 1st Goon Show together at Swancon 5, I’m sure he had no idea what he was starting.
In past years we have seen the Dune Show, Dragoon Show and now the arrival of a new writer on the scene, Craig Hilton, who was responsible for Lord of the Strings. Now we offer you the latest all leather Science Fiction Goon Show “SPON WARS” with a cast of thousands straight from an engagement at the C.E.S.
Join us for a half hour of chaos, confusion and jam tins at the masquerade on Sunday.
Poetry readings from works by well-known authors and fans. Presented by “INFINITY SQUARED” and others.
Treasurer’s Report
Most of what I have to say as Treasurer will be told after the convention when a full balance of all accounts is done, with all money collected and all bills paid.
When Swancon 7 started (during the clean-up at Swancon 6) it was going to be a small fund-raising convention to build up funds to hold another National convention in WA. During the last nine months I have watched it change into a somewhat “larger” more expensive con. The venue has changed, the fund-raising ideas have changed, the whole purpose of the con has changed; most of all the budget has changed; in fact, probably the only thing that hasn’t varied is our Guest-of-Honour (thanks for staying with us, Robin).
Still in approximately a week and a half from when I am writing this, we will have a convention hopefully one that all will enjoy! (ALL DONATIONS WILL BE GRATEFULLY ACCEPTED!)
